E-COMMERCE IN MACEDONIA BISINESS FORUM

On 14th May 2010, e-commerce business forum on "Innovative Ways to Improve Your Business" was held, organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Macedonia. Skopski Pazar participated, giving a presentation on e-commerce i.e. "the virtual supermarket": www.doma.com.mk The forum referred to improvement of e-commerce in Macedonia.

The forum was opened by Mrs. Sonja McGurg, Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Macedonia, who introduced the agenda of the business forum as well as the presenters that would be discussing e-commerce in Macedonia.

The following were forum participants: Aleksandar Tokarev, Director for software solutions development, Next Sense; Marija Remenska, Director of commerce and catering services, Skopski Pazar; Stefanija Potochan, Manager of provision and supervision of e-commerce, Skopski Pazar; representatives of the banking sector NLB Tutunska Banka; Aleksandar Tasev, Director of Akota, www.tc.mk

The participants shared their perspectives on the means for improvement of e-commerce in Macedonia, what are the problems that they encounter frequently, pointing out the challenges and risks. The goal was to produce better comprehension of e-commerce development and the ways in which to solve or eliminate any problems. Internet payment was also part of the discussion, its frequency in the country, the problems that entrepreneurs and banks have and the manners in which to protect from the risk that causes less internet transactions.

Forum on improvement and development of e-commerce in Macedonia is expected in 2011.
